With the Indian team continuing their domination in Asia Cup Hockey, the Bangladesh team was demolished completely. In their second encounter here at Dhaka, the Men in Blue overcame the Bangla challenge by seven goals to nil. Not only did team India advance to the next round but also showed why they are the best team here.

The Match Summary:

Starting off energetically, the hosts had some immense support of the crowd. Despite the good attack from the Bangladeshi’s, the World No. 6 team put up a clinical performance. Thereby bringing little opportunity for the supporters to cheer, who had turned up in large numbers.

However,  India could have scored more goals if the penalty corners would have been on target. Nevertheless, all credits to the Bangla defense who held on. As far as the Indian camp is concerned, the first two goals came off from the sticks of Gurjant Singh and Akashdeep Singh. Following them were Lalit Upadhyay and Amit Rohidas. Double goal scorer from the match against Japan Harmanpreet Singh struck twice again this time around. The final blow from Ramandeep Singh in the 46th minute promoted India to top of the table.

Preview of Ind vs Pak in Asia Cup Hockey

The toughest challenge awaits team India as they lock horns against their arch-rivals Pakistan. History suggests that any Indo-Pak hockey duel is full of drama and excitement. Additionally, there are fraying tempers too. Even though Pakistan is not a potent team in hockey off-late but the intensity is always high against India.

Only a win against India will sail Pakistan through to the Super 4s since Japan is lurking behind them. Moreover, the Japanese are expected to win their encounter against the Bangladeshis. Therefore a lot rides on match 10 for the World No. 14 team. Let’s hope that the World No. 6 India continues their winning streak.
