Galen RuppBorn in Portland, Oregon; Galen Rupp is an American athlete currently being trained under Alberto Salazar. He is mainly known as the recent American record holder at 10,000 meter with a time of 26:44:36. While at the indoors he holds a record of 3000 meter with a time of 7:30:16, 2 miles with a time of 8:07:41 as well as 5000 meter with a time of 13:01:26. A member of the Nike Oregon Project, Galen Rupp won the silver medal in the10000 meter at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Rupp was also a member of the 2008 United States Olympic Team. He is a six time USA outdoor 10,000 meter champion continuing from the year 2008 up to 2013, 2012 Olympic Trails 5,000 meter champion, 2013 USA Outdoor 5000m runner up, two time USA Indoor 3,000 meter runner up, USA Outdoor 10,000 meter runner up in 2007, 2012 Olympic 10,000 meter silver medallist. Rupp is also the first person in the NCAA history to have won 3,000 meter, 5000 meter as well as the distance medley relay in a single indoor championship.
