As many players & coach comment publicly and privately about the more price money in the badminton tournaments earlier. The new tour series, which features six levels, will kick off next year and run until 2021, with at least a million dollars in prize money up for grabs in each of its top four events.

From 2018 the calendar will have around 37 events be divided into six levels; the four tournaments in the two top levels will offer $1 million or more. The Super Series event in India sees its prize money hiked by $25,000 to $350,000.

Dubai’s World Super-Series Tournament, remains the richest; from next year there will be $1.5 million up for grabs but there will be a new venue, to be announced later.

Federation president Poul-Erik Høyer announced the changes following a BWF council meeting in Kuala Lumpur, saying, “the time is right for badminton to soar even higher”.
