PV Sindhu Olympic silver medalist & Current world rank 5th player, currently playing her best career badminton. After defeating her senior river Saina nehwal in quarter finals, Sindhu beat Sung 21-18, 14-21, 21-14 in a women’s singles semi-final which lasted an hour and 16 minutes at the Siri Fort Sports Complex.

The 25-year-old South Korean was inconsistent throughout the match. But she ensured that Sindhu put her best.

PV Sindhu won the first game 21-18 with her style of aggression but lost the second game. Sindhu was leading 5-2 in second game but Sung come back with great effort with the attacking badminton.

In the third game Sindhu back in rhythm & 5-1 lead in third game local crowd started chanting Sindhu, This time Sindhu didn’t given any opportunity to Sung to come back in the match increase the lead 11-4.Sung failed to return the shuttle which crashed on the net and Sindhu had the match point, winning 21-14.

In another Semi final Carolina Marin didn’t face resistance, Marin defeated Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi 21-16, 21-14 in the other semi-final.

Now Sindhu is one match away from title win, but this time she have to face word rank 3 Carolina Marin. This final is going to be exciting for the badminton lovers. As both the player are aggressive on court. Carolina also has her fans in India. Sindhu & Carolina previously clashes 9 times and having very close records they have 4-5.

Last time Sindhu defeated Carolina In Dubai open 2017, before that they Met in Olympic final where Carolina defeated Sindhu. Will Sindhu repeat Victory over Carolina Marin again?  If she does that then it will be her first back to back win over Carolina in single calendar year.
