No. 1 seed & two times Olympic champions Lin Dan clinched the Swiss Open title with a 21-12, 21-11 victory over Shi Yuqi, the No. 2 seed, a week after losing to young Chinese in straight game in Birmingham. This time Lin Dan manage to put things on the right order. In 31 minutes of match Lin Dan dominated his opponent with great performance in both the game.

The Thai duo of Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Sapsiree Taerattanachai defeated second seeded Indonesians Praveen Jordan and Debby Susanto to win the mixed doubles title.

Sapsiree Taerattanachai has become the first player to have won Grand Prix Gold titles in all three categories after her win in the mixed doubles in Basel today.

China swept all four other titles, with Lin Dan easily beating Shi Yuqi.

In the women’s singles final, China’s Chen Xiaoxin produced yet another shock.

The unseeded player beat Fitriani Fitriani of Indonesia, the tournament’s seventh seed, yesterday to reach the final and she managed to once again upset the odds and defeat compatriot and third seed Chen Yufei today.

Xiaoxin, ranked 64th in the world, appeared unfazed by her opponent’s superior seeding and claimed a 21-19, 21-14 straight sets win.
