ICC World T20 2016: 5 Bowlers to watch out

Cricket fever is on the way. With less than a month to go for the World t20 held at India, all the cricket fans around the world are keeping a close watch on the players and the teams to look out for. The tournament being scheduled in India, which is more known for batting friendly wickets and grounds with smaller boundaries, especially for the shorter version of the game, the bowlers are going to have a tough challenge. On this note, here are 5 bowlers who I think can make a difference in the ICC t20 World cup.

1. Ravichandran Ashwin

He has an average of 21.61 and economy rate of below 7 runs per over in T20I’s. He had a very successful series against South Africa, which just adds to his confidence. Also since the tournament is in India, we can definitely expect the man to spin some magic. With loads of t20 experience through IPL, Ash is one man the opponent teams will be vary of.

2. Lasith Malinga

Sri Lankan bowler Lasith Malinga celebraMalinga has been named captain of the Sri Lankan team for the tournament. He is a specialist bowler in the shorter version of the game and has a vast experience behind him bowling in Indian wickets. With his swinging Yorkers that trouble the batsmen in the death overs, he is an asset to any team. With an average of 21.02 and economy of 7.27 is T20I’s and also an impressive average of 17.8 and economy of 6.68 in IPL, Malinga is a bowler to watch out for.

3. Shahid Afridi

AfridiBoom Boom Afridi will be another man who will be leading his country at this version of the World Cup. Placed third in the ICC Bowlers Rankings, he will be rearing to go at the opponent batsmen. Having an experience of 90 T20I’s with an economy of 6.60 and a strike rate of 21.7 Afridi is a handy customer for his team. With the tournament in India, he will be rearing to roll his arm and bowl those quick leg spinners at the batsmen.

4. Shakib Al Hasan

Shakib Al HasanShakib is one man every team wishes to have. With his ability to bat and bowl and with the experience that he possesses, he is a handy man to his skipper. He is currently placed 10th in the ICC rankings and has been one of the reasons for Bangladesh’s success in recent times. He has an economy rate of 6.71 and strike rate of 18.7. With the wide arm delivery that he possesses he can be the man who controls the run flow and also gets wickets for his team. Having good experience playing in the IPL, he will be the man to do the job for the Bangladeshis.

5. Imran Tahir

Imran TahirThe South African spinner will be leading the spin attack for his team. With a good experience playing in India during the recent tour and also in IPL, Tahir can be expected to
perform well for his team. He is currently at the 7th position in the rankings and he would justify that through his performance. He has an average of 15.77 and an impressive economy rate of 6.45. With good variations in his bag, Tahir will be a man his captain will go to for wickets.
These are the 5 bowlers who are sure to reap success in the tournament. With the batsmen more aggressive and looking for quick runs, we will have to wait and watch how the bowlers will counter and win matches for their teams.
