It was a thrilling opening to the EPL 2016 edition.Fans witnessed a goal fest as liverpool emerged winners over the home team. This loss has brought Arsene Wenger a lot of criticism from all over the world. On the other side Klopp was praised for his tactical effort and bringing shades of the old dominant Liverpool team.
The match started off in a quite refreshing manner as both the teams picked up pace and created chances. The first one came in the 18th minute for Arsenal in the form of penalty. But it became a disaster as Walcott’s shot was deflected by the keeper.Just when everyone started criticizing him, Walcott slotted home wide of the penalty area to give Arsenal the lead. Liverpool responded in an astonishing fashion when Coutinho fired a free kick into the left corner. The noisy Emirates stadium was silenced and fans were in a state of shock.
Second half turned out to be even worse for Arsenal as they conceded 3 goals in 17 minutes.Just 2 minutes after the break Lallana scored from a difficult angle as he fired one from the right far post to the left. Before Arsenal could gather themselves up, Coutinho put them back into a trance mode as he converted a low cross into a 3rd one. Sadio Mane ran through the defense and curled one into the top of the net.Arsenal found themselves deep down the hole.
Despite a horrid 20 minutes Arsenal found a way back by scoring 2 goals in 10 minutes. Chamberlain dribbled through the walls of Liverpool and reduced the deficit. Callum Chambers got into the act as he headed home a cross which came off a free kick. The fans got into the act as well.But Liverpool held their nerves and made sure that those 2 goals were nothing but a consolation. Despite all the ongoing criticisms it turned out to be fascinating contest to kick off the World’s most entertaining League.
