Gurpreet Singh becomes the first Indian ever to captain a European team

Gurpreet Singh Sandhu created history today as he become the first Indian footballer to captain an European side. Gurpreet who plays as a goalkeeper for Norwegian Tippeligaen club Stabæk, Captained the team to a victory in the yesterday match.

Gurpreet who was the first ever Indian to play a competitive match for the first team of a top division European club, has added one more records to  his tally. Ever Since making his debut for the club he has been a regular member of the starting XI and is playing great football. Even in this match  he kept a clean sheet.

Gurpreet expressed his happiness over his proud achievement on twitter

It’s a great achievement not only for him but also for the entire football fanatics in India. Success stories like this are essential for the growth of this beautiful game in India.
