Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam of this year after Australian open and French Open. Wimbledon is regarded as the most prestigious Grand Slam among all four. The name of this prestigious tournament derived from Wimbledon a suburb of London, where it has been held since 1887. Out of all four Grand Slam Tournament, Wimbledon is the only one which is played in grass court.

Wimbledon has emerged as one of the major tennis competitions, with overall acknowledgment. The All England Lawn Tennis Club, which has been facilitating the competition since the beginning of the game, keeps on keeping up its administration in the 21st century too. With the progressing time, the nature of the occasion has been moved forward. Seating capacity for the spectators has also increased. The king of court who has turned back the clock to capture his 18th Grand Slam by winning Australian Open in January. He crushed his arch rival, Rafael Nadal, to do as such, and with the seeding equation that has been utilized by Wimbledon, the Swiss International has shown solid opportunity to again challenge the title at the All England Club. At present the 35 year old has won 7 Wimbledon title, another success at Wimbledon will take him over the legendary Pete Sampras.

2.Rafeal Nadal-

Federe’s long time rival is also among the favourites to win this Grand Slam by wining his 10th French Open. Like Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal has likewise encountered a resurgence in his own particular shape after the well documented injury woes  he has endured in the course of recent years. The 31 year old Spaniard will arrive to fancy his chance of winning This Grand Slam for the third time.

3.Andy Murray-

After a frustrating begin to the 2017 season, world number one and defending champion Andy Murray seemed to have turned a corner when he achieved the semi-finals at Roland Garros for the fourth straight year.

The two-time Olympic Gold Medallist knows how to deliver in Wimbledon by winning it twice (2013 and 2016) and reaching semi-final in 2015.

The 30 year old Serbian will be hoping to rediscover some form before of any upset which cost him in both Australian and French Open.The 30-year-old is mired in the worst form slump of his career, having surrendered all four Grand Slam titles and dropping out of the world’s top three for the first time since 2009. But this will the prefect time for him to get back into the game It’s an opportunity for him to show his that he has shown in past by winning 4 major Grand Slam in one season.

With the likes of Serena Williams(22 Grand Slam) and Maria Sharapova(5 Grand Slam) not participating in this tournament due to pregnancy and injury respectively the women’s draw is lacking stardust. But that does not mean it’s gonna be less exciting.

5. Venus Williams-

The 37 year old is one of the favourite candidate to win his 11th Grand Slam title. She will use her experience as a  main instrument to fancy some chance to win the Wimbledon for the 5th time.

6. Anjelique Kerber-

The world number one had a poor begin to the season and turned into the top seeded women to lose in the French Open initial round in the professional era when she was beaten by 40th-ranked Ekaterina Makarova. She has not won a WTA title this year, but rather has a decent record at Wimbledon, where she completed runner-up a year ago.
