Hello everyone, in this post, we will be covering the review of 18th August match that was between Banga Beats and Awadhe Warriors and the preview of 19th August match that is between Hyderabad Hotshots and Pune Pistons.

Review of Banga Beats v/s Awadhe Warriors (18th August)

Banga Beats-P Kashyap

Banga Beats-P Kashyap during match

This was the last match to be played in Lucknow Leg. In my words, it was a completely one sided game in which Banga Beats outplayed Awadhe Warriors. They won the game with a score of 4-1 and then getting a bonus point which ensure them a second position on the points table. In short, it was a dream game for Banga Beats after getting 5 points. They proved that they are not strong only on paper but can actually show they are capable of. The game started with Men’s Single in which Hu Yen of Banga Beats defeated Wei Fei Chong of Awadhe Warriors. The game lasted for only two sets.

Then, it was the turn of Women’s Single, in which World Championship bronze medal winner P.V. Sindhu was expected to play her most significant role in the team. She lost to Carolina Marin of Banga Beats in two straight sets. After losing two straight games, Awadhe Warriors finally saw a hope after they won a Men’s Double game. For this game, the team composition is like this.  From Awadhe Warriors, it was Mathias Boe and Kido Markis and from Banga Beats it was Mogensen and Akshay Dewalkar.

The last two games i.e., Men’s Double 2 and Mixed Doubles were also won by Banga Beats. Both the games continued for 3 sets. But in the end, it was again Banga Beats who was standing on the brighter side.  Carolina Marin was announced as the Vodafone Player of the Tie. She was the part of the Women’s Single and Mixed Doubles.

Preview of Hyderabad Hotshots v/s Awadhe Warriors (19th August at 2000 hrs)

This will be the third game for both the teams. The match will be played at Mumbai. In terms of morale, Pune Pistons look strong as they have won both the games and that too with a bonus point. They are currently at the top of the points table whereas Hyderabad Hotshots are on the third position (joint) after a loss in the second game against Krrish Pune Smashers.

If we start comparing the teams, then it is going to be a really difficult task. Both the teams look really strong on paper. Saina Nehwal, the key player of Hyderabad Hotshots is still unbeatable in both of her games. It will be really interesting to see whether she will try her hands in Mixed Doubles or not. This is going to be tough game for Juliane Schenk from Pune Pistons as she will be facing Saina Nehwal. The other difficulty that Pune Pistons will have to overcome will be in Men’s Double. This is going to be a completely action packed game. Stay tuned with us, we will be right back to you with its review very soon!
