We know how Kohli is amazing when it comes to cricket. Here’s a look at some of the records of Kohli which will leave you stunned.

1.Fastest in the world to reach 25 centuries in ODI

The caption itself shows you how marvellous it is. Yes he surpassed the legendary Sachin Tendulkar to achieve this incredible feat. It took him just 162 innings to reach this milestone against Tendulkar who took 234 innings. If he continues at this rate he might even create history of becoming the first ever batsman to reach the 50 ODI centuries. Out of those 25 centuries,21 came in a winning cause which shows how priceless player he is for the country.

2.Fastest in the world to reach 7000 ODI runs

This is another phenomenal feat achieved by Kohli. It took him just 7 years  and 152 days to break this record previously held by AB De Villiers. He is also the second fastest to reach 4000,5000 and 6000 runs. In an average he scores 800 runs in a calendar year. He also holds the record for most runs by any cricketer in the year 2011. Many legends and cricket analysts believe that he is the only player in the modern era who can break the records created by Tendulkar with age factor on his side.

3.First cricketer to score three centuries in his first three innings as Test captain

Before the Down under tour lot of criticisms were surrounding Kohli about his temperament in test cricket. He was under the scanner after a disastrous tour of England. At the same time he also had the opportunity to captain the side for the first test as Dhoni was ruled out with an injury. He was up against some of the fearsome and deadly bowlers of the modern era. He proved the critics wrong by smashing a dazzling century and also creating the record of becoming the first Indian captain to score a century on debut. Mitchell Johnson,Josh Hazlewood and Peter Siddle were smashed all over the park. Kohli also scored century in the second innings but went in vain as India lost the match. He went onto score another ton in the 4th test as captain thus making him the first one to do so.

4.First Indian Test captain to score a double hundred overseas

During the Caribbean tour early this year Kohli became the first Indian captain to score a double hundred overseas. His innings was filled with some scintillating shots all over the arena. Lot of cricketers appreciated him for showing much improved temperament throughout the innings. The number of rash shots or chasing wide deliveries outside off stump were avoided. The application showed by him was just incredible.

5.Fastest in the world to reach 1,000 runs in T20Is

To show an example of destructive innings  in cricket you should probably take a look at two batsman in the current generation. One is chris Gayle and the other one is none other than Kohli. When it comes to t20 Kohli is an absolute entertainer. Unlike other players Kohli likes to play the old-fashioned drives and lofted shots. He loves driving through the covers, flicking towards mid on and playing the inside out. Most of the runs scored by him comes in this fashion. This makes him the most impact player in the world. Early this year he also became the fastest batsman in the world to reach the 1000 run mark. It shows how consistent he is and with him in the team it makes it much difficult for the opposition to win matches
