Manchester United have redeemed themselves during their US tour under the new manager Louis Van Gaal. During the tour, they did not lose a single match and after a thumping 7-0 win over Los Angeles Galaxy in California, they participated in International Champions Cup 2014. Man-U played three round-robin matches in their pool to finish on top and met arch-rivals Liverpool in the final on August 4, 2014. Despite being a goal down, Man-U came back strongly and won the final 3-1. While they claimed victory, Van Gaal had a glorious beginning to his new coaching assignment at Old Trafford.
