The ICC T20 World cup 2016 ended with West Indies being crowned the champions.The tournament saw a lot of good exciting cricket being played. There were lot of moments which made everybody stand up and appreciate them.

Let’s have a look at some of these moments.

5) England Chasing South Africa’s Total of 230

This was one of the most exciting run chase ever. When South Africa scored 229 runs and set the Englishmen to chase 230, No one gave any chance to England of winning the match. But a brilliant innings by Joe Root helped England successfully chase down the target, which Ultimately was one of the main reason why England managed to reach semis from the group stage.


4) Afghanistan Beating West Indies.

Afghanistan was the only team in the tournament who managed to beat the West Indies. In their last match of the group stage, Afghanistan shocked west indies  by 6 runs to claim a famous win for them. Afghanistan batting first scored only 123 runs but came back superbly to defend  the partly score. And after the match Chris Gayle joined the afghan team to celebrate their victory making the moment even more remarkable.


3) India Vs Bangladesh – The Thrilling finish.

With 10 runs required of the last over Dhoni handed the ball to Hardik Pandya, a gamble that we know Dhoni loves to take. 8 scored of the first 3 balls, 2 required of 3 balls it seemed like it’s Bangladesh game, but not quite as there was more drama as Pandya picked up 2 wickets of the next  2 deliveries to leave the game wide open. Now one ball left two runs to score. Pandya bowls  outside off , Batsmen failed to connect and try to get a single of bye but Dhoni is faster than them and takes the bail off. India gets the win by 1 run. This brilliant last over is one of the moments that cricket fans won’t be forgetting anytime soon.


2) Virat’s Magical 82 against Australia.

Anyone who witnessed this Knock would say that they have  Witnessed a masterclass.Chasing Australia’s total of 160 on a difficult pitch India got off to a poor start in the virtual Quater finals, and the onus was once again on Kohli to take India past the target. And that is exactly what he did. A cool composed innings  of 82 of just 51 balls by Kohli helped India to get into the semis.


1) Carlos Braithwate – 4 sixes of 4 balls.

When West Indies required 19 of the last over, the scale were heavily tipped in the favor of Englishmen. But then something called Carlos Braithwate  hit the Englishmen hard. He smacked Ben Stokes for 4 mammoth sixes of the first 4 balls to Win the World cup for his team. With such an exciting  moment  for the finale it’s no wonder that this remains top most in almost  everybody opinion.
