Real Madrid took a big step towards reaching the next round of UEFA Champions League by beating Roma 2-0 in their Champions League last-16 first leg at the Stadio Olimpico, with the help of goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Jese.
It was a largely uneventful match with Roma looking to sit back from the starting and defend. Ronaldo Opened the score for Madrid in the 57th minute.
Before that Real Madrid have not knocked an Italian team out of European competition since 1987.
