Over the years we’ve seen West Indian quick bouncing out Indian batsman on a wicket where there is pace and bounce. But for Indian fans it was a day to remember as Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav replicated the Fierce and aggression which the West Indian fast bowlers showed in late 80’s.The Windies batsman didn’t have any clue of how to tackle the bowling of the duo.

Starting of their innings at 31 for the loss of their opening batsaman Rajendra Chandrika,Windies showed some resistance in the form of Kraig Brathwaite and the nightwatchman Devendra Bishoo. The duo frustrated the Indian quick by scoring at a snail’s pace and getting beaten time after time. The first breakthrough came from the leggie Amit Mishra who had Bishoo stumped.Soon after West Indies found their most trustable and elegant batsman Dareen Bravo in the pavilion. The stylish left handed unnecessarily poked at shortish delivery outside off stump and caught the edge to the keeper.

The post lunch session turned out to be a nightmare as they lost both the experienced Marlon Samuels and the out of form Blackwood.Shami was the chief in charge of the destruction as he escalated to the statistical board of becoming the fastest indian pace bowler to reach 50 wickets equalling the previous record held by Venkatesh Prasad.

The debutant Roston Chase and the ever giving up Brathwaite steadied the ship to take them past 150.Brathwaite showed lot of patience and resistance helping himself to well made half century.Virat shuffled his bowlers frequently looking for breakthroughs. As expected by Virat it came in the form of Umesh Yadav who bowled his heart out by bouncing out both the well set batsman.West Indies were in a spot of bother.

In came the wicket keeper Shane Dowrich who showed some aggression and took a particular liking to the spinners espically R.Ashwin.But the latter retaliated back by making him edge one to Rahane who thought he had taken it.The decision was overturned as the replays suggested that the ball had bounced millimeters in front of Rahane’s hands. However Dowrich along with the skipper Jason Holder tackled the bowling with some lusty blows.Holder smashed Mishra for three boundaries in an over and pulled Shami for a six over deep mid wicket.

Virat showed his brilliance again by bringing back Yadav who proved the critics wrong by consistently bowling outside off stump and making Holder nick one to Saha. The T20 World Cup hero Carlos Brathwaite left one of Yadav only to see his off stump being shattered.Dowrich though continued his fight by bringing up a fine half century. But the Indian bowlers finished the job soon by tumbling out the wickets of the tail.Yadav and Shami were the pick of the bowlers grabbing 4 each.

Less than 15 overs to be bowled Kohli enforced the follow on and the misery extended for the West Indian batsman as they lost their first innings top scorer Brathwaite who was adjudged lbw for 2 of an incoming Ishant delivery. With still two days to go West Indies are in sight of a crushing defeat unless the rain gods save them.
