Rafael Nadal, Who is current world number 1 seeking his 16th grand slam title confirmed his place in US open 2017 final with a 4-6, 6-0, 6-3, 6-2 win against No. 24 seed Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina on Friday at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Nadal will face South African and No. 28 seed Kevin Anderson in final, who defeated No. 12 seed Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4.

With four set win over Juan Martin del Potro, Rafael Nadal made new records. He has won 15 consecutive grand slam semifinal appearances since he lost to del Potro in the 2009 US Open.

This will be Nadal’s third major final appears this year. Before that he did this in 2011. And 23rd final of Major event in his career.

Nadal thorough out tournament didn’t struggle, he is playing like champions in this tournament. He easily kicked out the younger opponent in quarter-final in straight set win. And now in semifinal playing against Potro when he lost first set, he quickly made came back and won back to back sets. Other side Juan Martin del Potro struggled to maintain his momentum because of was tired and exhausted after playing close matches in quarter-final round.

Kevin Anderson is surprising package of this year. He became the lowest ranked man to reached the singles finals. Nadal in all previously 4 attempt registered the victory over the Kevin Andreson. It will be interesting to see final how Kevin will face the Nadal. Will he able to make his first major title win in first major final?  Will World number 1 Nadal register his 16th major title win( Just behind the Roger Federer)? Let’s wait for Sunday, whoever win it will be a historical moment in tennis history.
