Ever since La Pulga (aka Lionel Messi ) scored in the dying moments of the El Gran Clasico, ransacking Real Madrid of those three precious points, the league sprung into life. Lionel Messi was successful in bringing back the inert hopes of Barcelona winning the Liga for the third consecutive time under Luis Enrique back to life, something that would have made even Melisandre proud (PS – spoiler alert! ).

Two days after the Clasico, Messi effectuated yet another match by ravaging Osasuna by 7 goals to 1 and helped Barcelona keep up the pressure on the galacticos. On the other hand, Real Madrid’s bench-boys showed how underestimated they are by decimating Deportivo La Coruna by 6 goals, ( The same team that helped them by beating Barcelona ). Coruscating performances from both teams on the match day made it sure that the Liga is going down the wire!

Here is a systematic analysis on what games remain for both the teams and how could they fare against each other for the top place.

Real Madrid –

Fixtures – Real Madrid Vs Valencia (H), Granada Vs Real Madrid (A) , Real Madrid Vs Sevilla (H), Malaga Vs Real Madrid (A), Celta Vigo Vs Real Madrid (A).

Los Blancos will be facing Valencia up next, A tough fixture given Valencia has been the reason they slip up in Liga race for a couple of seasons now. With Malaga president formally agreeing to help Madrid win Liga rather than the “Catalunya Scum” (Barcelona has complaint about this statement from Malaga president’s twitter feed) only Sevilla, Celta Vigo can thwart Real Madrid of getting that lustrous trophy.

F.C. Barcelona –

Fixtures – Espanyol Vs Barcelona (A), Barcelona Vs Villareal (H) , Las Plamas Vs Barcelona (A), Barcelona Vs Eibar (H).

With already one extra game played, Liga won’t be easy for Barcelona. If Real Madrid wins all their remaining fixtures, things will be blunt. However a slip-up by Real Madrid can make things interesting as Barcelona have a better head to head record against Madrid this season. We can predict easy win for Barcelona against Eibar but the other three teams have been known for giving Luis Enrique anguished nightmares.

League Winner PredictionWith Real Madrid catching up with their form, the ball is still in their court. However, it will be alluring to see if either Valencia or Celta cause them troubles.
