Yung-Jan Chan and Martina Hingis upset fourth seeds Sania Mirza and Barbora Strycova in their quarter-final at Indian Wells The 4th seeded Indo-Czech pair suffered a 4-6, 4-6 defeat against 6th seeded Swtzerland’s Martina Hingis and Taiwan’s Yung-jan Chan in the quarter-final.
Chan and Hingis converted seven of the 14 break points they faced on Mirza and Strycova’s serve, while saving five of the 10 break points on their serve.
Mirza and Hingis were former partners who shared together WTA doubles world number 1 rank. And Mirza and Hingis duo first title win was Indian Well in 2015.
Chan and Hingis await the winner between top-seeds Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Lucie Safarova, and Svetlana Kuznetsova and Kristina Mladenovic in the semi-final.
As Leander Paes & Bopanna are already out of the tournament. Sania mirza loses is also end of Indian challenge in Indian Wells.
